Remica Funderburk is a Planning and Design Intern at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, focused on community development. She believes space is a conversation and enjoys using research, planning, and creative engagement to help communities imagine more equitable, resilient futures.

Her interests span across placemaking, adaptive reuse, economic development, community programs and art with a focus on how they all come together in creating the built environment. Mica also coaches an youth arts program, mixing art and city exploration to help young people imagine different pathways for growth and opportunity.
