AICP Senior Planner
Ellen Rottjakob is a Senior Planner with extensive planning, economic development and city administration experience working in a local government setting. Ellen’s favorite thing about being a planner is how varied the planning field is; it’s impossible to get bored! Ellen is passionate about collaborating with residents, city officials, public agencies, and the development community to create communities that are great places in which to live and work.
Ellen enjoys applying her wide range of planning skills to a variety of planning projects, but her favorite is good old-fashioned current planning and development code administration. She is passionate about working with community stakeholders to implement plans and develop policies and programs consistent with best planning practices and a community’s vision. She lives in Ballwin, MO and works in Shockey’s St. Louis office.
Ellen’s favorite activities include hiking, kayaking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She learned to love crafts during the pandemic and hopes to one day finish the giant chunky blanket she’s making for her mom.
Ellen holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English from Indiana University-Bloomington, and a master’s degree in Urban Development Planning from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
