Environmental Scientist
Carla Dods is an environmental scientist with 27 years of experience, 17 years with engineering firms prior to joining the Shockettes. Why is a scientist working for a public involvement firm? To ground our public education materials in fact and science. Further, Carla is bi-lingual. She speaks Engineer in addition to common English. Carla’s diverse experience includes water quality and urban stormwater management, environmental impact studies for transportation projects, and hazardous waste site remediation. In her spare time, Carla also works as an educator, youth leader, and community organizer. This unique blend of science, engineering, regulatory policy, education, and community involvement helps Shockey communicate complex technical issues to diverse community stakeholders in understandable and creative ways. Carla holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Environmental Science, from Texas Christian Universityand Indiana University.
